Baby Blake started out as a blank vinyl doll kit created from Jacqueline Gwin's Limited Edition "Blake" sculpt. Before painting, Baby Blake was given a warm soapy bath to remove any residue or oils and then gently dryed. To make Blake more lifelike and appear as if he can breathe, his nose was gently opened and backed with a soft brown felt for added depth. I am so pleased with the way Baby Blake turned out! If Blake has made his way into your heart, don't let him get away. I will never create another baby exactly like Blake. "Blake's Life Like Skin" A custom blend of Genesis heat set professional artist oils were used to create Blake's realistic newborn skin tones. Blake's skin is transparent with subtle veining, capillaries and blue undertones showing through his skin. His skin looks amazingly real! Many layers of paint were applied and heat cured between each thin layer and sealed with a permanent matte varnish sealer to make him an heirloom quality collector doll that will be cherished for many lifetimes. Blake's tiny toes and the bottom of his feet are a nice and healthy newbron pink color. Just like a real babies tiny feet would be. "Blake's Little Mouth" Blake's lips and tongue were painted using my own combination of very natural colors. His tongue even has tiny little taste buds! Many thin layers were applied and permanently heat set. They were then moistened to add even more realism. "Blake's Nails" Blake's nails are painted very naturally and look so realistic. They have been sealed with a permanent satin varnish. I use my own special five step process for creating very lifelike baby nails. I do not paint "half moons" because real babies do not have these until much later in life. "Blake's Beautiful Hair" Blake's hair was deeply micro rooted using a very fine 43 gauge German rooting needle and ultra premium dark brown mohair by Susan Nagel. Blake's scalp was also painted and has realistic subtle veining. Each hair was rooted only one to two hairs at a time so that it would appear to be growing from the follicle and look as realistic as possible. Every hair right down to the swirl was directionally rooted the same way a real babies hair would naturally grow. His hair was then trimmed and shaped. A waterproof sealer was applied on the inside to permanently and securely seal his hair. Blake's hair can be dampened, combed or brushed and styled as desired. Blake's hair is dry in all of his photo's so you can see it's true quality and how it will look at home. "Blake's Body" Baby Blake was given a custom made, high quality, fully jointed, white doe suede material body by Spearson. To acheive the weight and feel of a real life newborn baby his limbs and body were strategically weighted using a combination of fine glass micro beads, non rust steel pellets, poly pellets and supreme poly fiber. I never use sand! His weight is perfectly placed so that he cuddles into your arms and will need his head supported just like a real newborn baby! ~ Blake will arrive home to his new Mommy carefully bundled in special packaging made just for him ~ ~ Baby Blake will arrive home with an adorable layette and a few of his favorite things ~ ~ T.Y.
