Little Darlins Nursery Welcoming baby Ashton Date of reborn August 27th, 2010 Weight 4 pounds 2 ounces Length 20 inches Welcome to Little Darlins Nursery. My name is Rita Meese and I am a full time reborn artist. I have been making these sweet, realistic babies for many years and have adopted them to families all over the world. I take pride in each baby created here, and only the highest quality materials are used. It is my goal that each doll that leaves the nursery be an heirloom that can be handed down and enjoyed for generations. ? I am happy to bring to you the newest addition to the nursery, Ashton. This sweet little sleeping angel started out as the Tabitha sculpt by well known doll artist Pat Moulton. I just love his little pouty lip!! To achieve the most lifelike skintones, I use Genesis Heat Set Paints. I do not use pre-mixed paints, but prefer to mix my own color "pallette" to achieve the perfect skintone for each baby I create. This paint is applied in many thin layers to obtain a realistic complexion. The paint is actually baked into the vinyl, so it will never fade. This baby has subtle veining and blushing in all her creases and dimples. I have spent many hours to get her complexion just right Ashton has 3/4 limbs and a custom made, fully jointed doe suede body. He is stuffed with fiberfill and weighted in his head, body, and limbs for a very realistic feel. His head will need to be supported just like a real baby. Ashton is so cuddly you won't want to put him down. ? Ashton has soft, wispy, strawberry blonde baby hair that has been handrooted with high quality mohair. It has been rooted a few strands at a time with a very small needle. This is a very time consuming process, but well worth it for the results achieved. It has been sealed inside with waterproof glue so his hair can be wet and styled. I recommend a baby comb and brush, as well as baby spray conditioner. His hair looks so real, it appears to be growing right out of his scalp. I just love this little face!! ? Ashton's nose has been opened and backed with dark felt for added depth and realism. His eyebrows have been painted on in fine, delicate strokes. I handrooted eyelashes in the same color as his hair to frame his sleepy eyes. Ashton has been given a manicure and pedicure for that just clipped baby look. His nails, as well as his mouth, have been glossed and sealed. His mouth has a bit of a moist look I take great pleasure in creating these beautiful, lifelike "Little Darlins". Each one of them finds a place in my heart as I watch them come to life. The truly comforting, joyful feeling that comes with holding a baby in your arms is a remarkable and blessed experience. Holding Ashton will bring back all those wonderful emotions. ? Ashton has 2 really cute outfits. His 2 piece short set has a red striped Winnie the Pooh onesie with dark blue bottoms.. His adorable light brown sleeper is embellished with a little puppy dog..He is wearing white socks and tan shoes.He also has a magnetic pacifier, and is wearing a diaper. * magnets are very strong and should not be used around pacemakers. Please let me know if it needs to be removed * ? Ashton will be snuggled in his blanket for his trip to his new home. ? I never use sand in my babies, so they can travel overseas with no problems. ?
