I have taken the photographs over the course of several days, due to the British weather being so unpredictable at the moment, so I apologise if some are a little darker than others, but I can assure you that they are TRUE to life photographs. Due to this weather, either snow, sleet, rain or fog, I have taken these photographs indoors under a daylight lamp. You will see that there are shadows in some pictures - I apologise I am not used to using lighting, but again, I assure you that these pictures are unaltered. Some you will see are slightly darker, but I will not alter them as it will probably change other aspects that I have no idea about! I have been reborning since 2004 and am constantly striving to improve my own techniques and to learn new ones. I am so very passionate about this art which has become a huge part of my life, and am so proud that I have made so many wonderful people, all over the world, happy with the results of my art. So many new sculpts are now becoming available, and due to this, I will only be offering one of each chosen sculpt on Ebay, so if this Bambino has stolen your heart, please do not miss out! Prototype of "Hannah" by Joanna Gomes Length approx 19" Weight approximately 7lbs I am extremely proud to announce Joanna Gomes latest Prototype called "Hannah". She is an absolute sweetheart and has definitely stolen my heart. I have genuinely enjoyed working with this one every moment. Joanna has captured a perfect newborn look with her and I hope I have done her justice. Her face is just so gentle and innocent, you cannot help love her. Hannah is definitely one of my favourite kits now. You will notice that I have given her THE most softest mohair. The front and sides have been trimmed down whilst leaving the top a little longer. This is blended in. During the process of photographing Hannah, I have only had to re-do her hair once which was to take a close-up of the rooting near the crown. Whoever is lucky enough to win this beautiful Bambino will not be disappointed! The fact that Joanna called this precious sculpt Hannah was particularly special to me as when I was a young child, my own Mum had a beautiful doll by the same name. She was kept in a box at the top of a cupboard and was only bought out on what were very special occasions to me and my sister. Sentimental I know, but due to that, it was even more of an honour that Joanna asked me to do this for her. xx The stunning white hand-knitted outfit that Hannah is wearing was beautifully made by Janet Hord from JansKnits. The set does come with a little bonnet but I didn't want to cover up her hair! If any of you have ever seen any of Janets work - you will know how stunning each one is. Thank you so much Janet - you are such a star! xx Each Bambino is perfectly proportioned with her weight. You will find that she flops so snuggly into your arms for wonderful cuddles. I have used micro-fine glass beads in each of her perfectly sculpted limbs topped with top quality heavy virgin fibre-fill. I have used slightly larger glass beads and fibre fill inside her precious little head and in her fully-jointed body which was custom made for her by Joanna. Joanna has also signed the back of the body as further endorsement of being a prototype. Weighting is a very important part of her creation in order to make her realistically snuggle into your arms as a real baby would. I like to leave some movement in the body so that my babies are not stiff in your arms. They will scrunch up, just like a real baby, would very easily. You will even need to support her head when you pick her up. xx Each Bambino has been meticulously MICRO-rooted with only the very best of mohair that is available. This has been done using the finest of needles, so that no holes will appear on her scalp. I root in the natural direction of the hair growth and this leads up to the most gorgeous realistic swirl of the crown. One hair is rooted at a time which takes a great many hours and days but it is so satisfying to see the end result. This has then been waterproof sealed inside so you can safely dampen it for styling. It has always been a passion of mine to create the most realistic head of hair on my Bambinos which can be styled in many ways. As you will see, I am not afraid to show you close-ups. I am proud to say I have always been complimented on my rooting. I have used Slumberland KID mohair in Chocolate Brown around the front and sides and the lower part of the back of the head. The top has been rooted slightly thicker with YEARLING Chocolate Brown and left slightly longer. As mentioned earlier this has been blended in for a natural look. Only ONCE during the photography did I need to comb her hair slightly and that was to part the mohair near the crown so you can see that no plugs are being hidden by the length of the hair. I study real-life baby photographs in order to achieve the most realistic look on my Bambinos. You will see that she has a beautiful depth to her ''skin'' and I have achieved this with a huge variety of colours and transparent layers which have been built up very carefully over time, in order for the colouring not to sit on the vinyl, but instead be translucent. For this, I have used Genesis Heat Set Paints. She has very delicate veining and capillaries in all the right places which sometimes are not even picked up by the camera. Delicate marks are painted and some have been enhanced to create a 3-D effect. Due to having to use a daylight lamp, the colour of the hair in these close-ups are different to how it is in reality. This picture ABOVE is the TRUE colour. I have left the other pictures in, just to show the actual rooting more than the colour. On this photograph you can see that I have moved the hair to show that there are no unsightly plugs underneath the longer section of the hair. Hannah will come home with all the clothing that you see in the photographs. Her toy and other props are my own. She will come with a different toy.
