My name is Tonya Mitchell and I am the artist who got the joy of bringing your little one to "life"! He was such a joy to reborn! I began by using my own unique blend of Genesis Heat Set Paints. These paints are then applied layer upon thin layer which gives the look of depth, and realism. Every little crease and wrinkle was shaded:) he's been given a peaches and cream complextion and was painted to look as if he has circulation! You will see this in the motteling of his skin. I've given you a close-up of his face where you can see the finer details:) such as slight gloss to his lower lip, and eyes that gives just a hint of that moist look to the skin..eyes are glossed and he now has gorgeous lashes to frame those beautiful ocean blue eyes!. He has veins that appear to be beneath the skin and are true to life in pattern and width. His nails were painted in a very natural color that more closely resembles that of true nail color and I try to make them a teensy bit uneven for a more realistic look. His skin has a slight texture to it but nothing rough so that it's still nice to the touch while adding yet another detail that brings out of realism. You just want to pinch those chubby cheeks that are blushed to perfection! his forehead has a slight redness still where he was just delivered not long ago! Once painting is completed, your baby recieves a matte varnish that both protects the paint and removes shine leaving behind a rich, living skintone. With a lot of love ALL babies (no matter how well or how many times matte varnish is applied) eventually all babies will get shiny if they are handled a lot, but that's ok too! You are given an "Allowed to Love!" guarantee (see bottom of page). While it's true that reborn babies are not for children but for adult collectors, I make babies for you to ENJOY! (please keep children away as baby is not a toy!) I spend a lot of extra time to ensure each baby that leaves my nursery FEELS just as real as they look! Your baby feels just like a newborn baby! (well...as close as I can come:) and Bryson even has a heart that beats with every hug you give! Bryson has an anatomically correct LOWER TORSO that moves at his thighs for posing and a cloth upper portion so his head and arms remain floppy which gives him such a realistic baby feeling when held. A living baby weighing 5lbs 11.5 oz will feel lighter than your baby, although they both weigh the same, your baby will probably feel as though he weighs a whole pound heavier! I like my babies heavier...this is simply my preference, and usually the first comment one makes when holding one of my babies is "Oh my gosh! he feels REAL too!" I'm proud to say there have been people who have held my babies and STILL need to be told they are holding a reborn! LOL I especially love it when that happens!!:)***Your little boy has been weighted with polyfil, polypellets, and brand new bb's. Then given a baby powder scent! This scent is nothing sprayed on but comes from inside so it's sure to last a very, very long time! She is made with a soft body for realistic posing and she is weighted with fine glass beads to give her a life like feeling. Her arms are 3/4 limbs and her legs are full limbs. Her weight is approximately 2.5 lbs. fitting in to newborn clothes with a height of about 18 inches. She comes home with her outfit, diaper, blanket and paci. They are all painted with many layers of paint and dried between each coat, and then blushed, lightly veined in all the right places, no creases over looked. Their little toes and fingernails are all tipped and sealed..All are sealed with a matte finish so they will not shine. Their hair is rooted using a 40ga needle and angora mohair and then sealed inside so their new mommy can slightly dampen and comb it..They are than given a white flannel jointed body so they are easily posed. The limbs are filled with fine glass beads and topped with fiberfil and sealed, the bodies have a pouch of larger glass beads and fiberfil to make them soft and cuddly. Their little heads are filled with a pouch of glass beads and fiberfil and then sealed. Some may have magnets for their pacifier and hair ribbon(these are very strong magnets and care should be taken around pacemakers and sensitive electrical equipment....they can be removed upon request) You will have to handle them like real babies as their heads need supporting. They also smell like real babies.. These babies are not intended for children due to the small parts, but are heirlooms which can be handed down generation to generation.
