I am Celia Mayfield, the doll artist at Hushabye Mountain Nursery. For those of you who regularly look at my work, I hope you will like my new template and logo. I decided to order new ones after problems occurred with my old template. This is an exclusive design by Jackie at Exceptional Reborn Designs and, I think you will agree, she has done a wonderful job. I would appreciate any feedback from my customers on my new layout. To remind yourselves of my previous Hushabye Mountain ‘look’, I still have my old logo on my ’ME’ page for the time being. I have been selling reborn babies under this nursery name since 2006 but I have been involved in art of some kind all my life and have taught many aspects of it to both children and adults. I came across reborn babies quite by chance when I was searching the internet one day and I decided immediately that it was something I would love to do. Please look at my ‘ME’ page to see some of my work and see too the collage of previously adopted babies at the bottom of this listing. Description Here is my latest reborn, Shami. Shami has been reborn from the beautiful new ’Aisha’ sculpt by Marissa May. She is a gorgeous sleeping AA baby. Lots of my previously adopted babies can be seen on my ‘ME’ page by clicking the blue and red ‘ME‘ icon next to my user ID at the top right of this page. Shami’s hair has been finely rooted in premium curly black angora mohair. It has a lovely curl to it. Shami has beautiful eyelashes also in black. Her hair is sealed inside so it can be gently dampened and combed for re-styling. She has finely painted baby brows. Shami has three quarter arms so she can wear short sleeved clothes and she has three quarter legs too. She has a soft, fully jointed body which was specially made for her. It is jointed at the hips as well as at the top of the arms. I have opened Shami’s nose and backed it with felt for extra realism. This little one’s limbs are beautifully detailed and weighted with very fine glass beads. Her head contains a sachet of fine glass beads for weight and her body has a sachet of fine, non-rusting steel shot. Both these pouches are surrounded and cushioned by fleece. Shami has a body platewhich lies on top of her soft fabric body and ties at the back with ribbons. This is for posing and easily be removed for a soft hug. Shami’s nails are tipped in soft white and her lips have just a hint of a sheen to them Description This baby has a beautiful, peaceful sleeping little face which I love. Shami came as a blank kit and I painted her using Genesis heat set paints. Genesis give a beautiful colour to the skin and are applied very sparingly, one thin coat at a time, giving the baby very realistic skin tones. I have given her a warm brown skin tone. She does not contain any magnets and I have not given her a dummy/pacifier Description Shami’s pictures were taken during the course of a day. You will see the different effects of the light as I did not use flash or artificial light. Some are darker than others. Some show bursts of sunshine. The pictures have not been altered or enhanced in any way (apart from giving one picture a sepia tone for purely artistic purposes). Shami will arrive with a beautiful layette. She wears a gorgeous hand knitted set in white with lavender detail , comprising of a delightful pinafore dress, long panties with ribbon ties, pull-on hat and matching bootees all made by my very talented sister. Shami will also bring a lace trimmed vest, a real terry nappy/diaper and pin, a pampers nappy, a lovely turban, a beautiful charm in the shape of an angel, hung from a white ribbon with ‘made for an angel’ etched on the back and one of my own signed birth certificates. Any items not mentioned are my own display props and do not form part of this auction Description Please remember: Shami is NOT a child's toy and should not be given to children to play with. If you would like to bid on her, I wish you good luck. But PLEASE - only bid if you intend to buy. I have had to re-list babies recently because of payment issues and it is unfair on genuine bidders. I can offer a lay away service and payment by instalments. I ask for one third of the final price (including postage) at the end of the auction, with two more payments over 8 weeks. Of course, you can pay the balance in full at any time before the 8 weeks is up. Your baby will be sent out as soon as the last payment clears.
