Shelby is an adorable doll and I hope you enjoy looking at her as much as I did reborning her. I have added extra pictures in the slide show at the bottom of the listing.Date Reborn: 6/21 /2010 Weight: 5 lbs., 13 oz. Length: 19 inches I am so pleased at how adorable and real looking Shelby turned out. I am still so amazed by these babies and I am the artist!!! Since Shelby was a Berenguer factory doll, I had to take the doll apart and remove all factory paint. The next step was to give Shelby her first warm sudsy bath.I use Genesis paints and a technique known as honeycombing which is so time consuming but adds such realism, I feel it is worth the time. I add many, many layers of paint to create a very realistic skin tone. Every detail from veining under the skin to the creases is completed to achieve the most realistic look possible. I finish the skin with a matte finish to add texture and realism. Even though her pictures are very good, you must see her in person to really know how adorable she is. Shelby is made of soft vinyl. She is flexible and oh so huggable . Besides skin tone, excellent hair rooting is the second key to great reborning. I use a 42 gauge needle and micro root one to two hairs of premium chocolate brown kid angora mohair at a time. The mohair I rooted on this doll is from Slumberland Nursery. This mohair is the softest and finest mohair I have found. You must see her hair in person to see how real it looks. I take a lot of time and care to make sure the hair is rooted in a natural pattern and the hair has a life-like appearance. Her hair has been securely glued inside of her head, so Shelby's hair can be gently washed & styled. Because the magnets are extremely powerful, they must be kept away from computers, electronic equipment, magnetic media and pace makers. If the magnets are a problem I would be more than happy to remove them. Shelby's nostrils have been painted to give a realistic look.Your Baby will be securely packaged; I take great care in making sure my babies are safe and secure for their trip to your home. Your baby will normally be delivered by Stork Mail, (USPS Priority Mail) You may also request Express Mail as an option.As far as shipping charges, I charge the actual rate based on the weight and distance. I add a four dollar handling charge to cover the costs of the packaging supplies and post office trips. I also require insurance because I can not be responsible for loss or damage to your baby after leaving the nursery. Please understand that I do not try to make any money on the shipping.International shipping is via USPS Priority Mail or Express Mail International. The Express Mail is typically not that much more and is 3-5 days instead of 6-10 days.International Bidders: Please note that any and all customs fees and duties are your responsibility.
