sharonaa94 Store Miguel Miguel was reborn from the adorable " A Caress for Miguel" doll by Waltraud Hanl. This doll is retired and is from the original issue in the Cradled in Loving Arms collection from Ashton Drake Galleries. Miguel is such an adorable doll! I hope you enjoy looking at Miguel as much as I did reborning him. I have added extra pictures in the slideshow at the bottom of the listing. Date Reborn: 1/28 /2010 Weight: 6 lbs., 11 oz. Length: 21 inches I am so pleased at how adorable and real looking Miguel turned out. I am still so amazed by these babies and I am the artist!!! The first process was to take Miguel apart as he is a collectiable doll. Next I removed the factory paint and the glued on hair. The next process was to give Miguel his first warm sudsy bath. I use Genesis paints and a process known as honeycombing which is very time consuming but adds such realism, I feel it is worth the time. I add many, many layers of paint to create a very realistic skin tone. Every detail from veining under the skin to the creases is completed to achieve the most realistic look possible. I finish the skin with a matte finish to add texture and realism. I took Miguel's photos outdoors so you can see his skin tone in the best possible light. Even though his pictures are very good, you must see him in person to really know how adorable he is. I take great care in creating beautiful textured skin for each baby. I want people to gasp in disbelief when they find out my dolls are not real! Extreme realism is what I always aim for. Miguel is made of soft vinyl. He is flexible and oh so huggable . Besides skin tone, excellent hair rooting is the second key to great reborning. I use a 42 gauge needle and micro root one to two hairs of premium chocolate brown kid angora mohair at a time. The mohair I rooted on this doll is from Slumberland Nursery. The hair is baby fine and beautiful. You must see his hair in person to see how real it looks. I take a lot of time and care to make sure the hair is rooted in a natural pattern and the hair has a life-like appearance. His hair has been securely glued inside of his head, so Miguel's hair can be gently washed & styled. My teddy bear watches over me and is my best friend. Certificate of authenticity from Ashton Drake Galleries.Birth certificate Miguel has such realistic features! He is a beautiful little baby boy! I really think you should pick me up and hug me! Miguel has a magnetic pacifier. Because the magnets are extremely powerful, they must be kept away from computers, electronic equipment, magnetic media and pace makers. If the magnets are a problem I would be more than happy to remove them. Miguel's nostrils have been painted to give a realistic look. Your Baby will be securely packaged; I take great care in making sure my babies are safe and secure for their trip to your home. Your baby will normally be delivered by Stork Mail, (USPS Priority Mail) You may also request Express Mail as an option. As far as shipping charges, I charge the actual rate based on the weight and distance. I add a four dollar handling charge to cover the costs of the packaging supplies and post office trips. I also require insurance because I can not be responsible for loss or damage to your baby after leaving the nursery. Please understand that I do not try to make any money on the shipping. International shipping is via USPS Priority Mail or Express Mail International. The Express Mail is typically not that much more and is 3-5 days instead of 6-10 days. International Bidders: Please note that any and all customs fees and duties are your responsibility. This doll does not contain any sand or other organic filler that would create a problem with customs. To be more eco friendly, I now use only 100% recyclable packaging peanuts. Please feel free to reuse them. If you do not need them, you can simply melt them in your sink with warm water; they are made of corn starch and are completely non-toxic! I think I need to have my diaper changed..... I t feels so good to stretch after my nap. Miguel has a beautiful baby pedicure and manicure. His nails have been sealed with a non-yellowing glaze. I challenge myself to create very real looking hands and feet. I take great care in picking out just the right outfits for each baby. Since all four of my children are grown, I love picking out baby clothes for my reborns. Miguel wears newborn or 0 to 3 month size clothes. Miguel is a beautiful baby and is heirloom quality. He is a collectible and not intended for children as a play toy. I personally sign and number all of my babies. I have been creating reborns for over three years and it is an honor for me to make these beautiful babies.
