Tinkerbell Nursery Introduces Nathan Created by Reborn Artist Helen Jalland December 1st 2009 ~ 7lbs 1ozs ~ 21" to heel ~ Reborn from the amazing Limited Edition 'Barbara' sculpt by Adrie Stoete Schuiteman This amazingly realistic little boy just about to break into tears has tugged my heart in a way that has really surprised me! Adrie has sculpted such a beautifully realistic little boy you will find yourself aching to pick him up to bring a smile back to his dear face. I have given Nathan the beautiful, very slightly blotchy but more relaxed colouring of a slightly older baby. He has a gorgeous tie on tummy plate that is incredibly realistic and fits him so well he can wear it quite happily under his clothes. His limbs are plump and adorable and he is a gorgeous 0-3 month full sized baby. I have given him a lovely wardrobe bursting with lovely clothes and items. Nathan's realism will take your breath away! I have never known a baby who's expression seems to change so much as the light catches his features. He looks as if he is concentrating intently one minute, almost relaxed with his soother and then as if he is about to open his mouth for a good cry! He is enchanting! For those new to reborning, I am a highly experienced professional reborner and have been reborning for almost seven years now being one of the first few ever reborners in Europe. My babies are sold all around the world to many delighted 'Mums'. This has taken a lot of hard work and dedication to improving my techniques continually and I am very proud of my achievements and totally dedicated to this art. I have featured in many magazines and newspaper articles over the years. I have taken Nathan's photos in a variety of different rooms with different light. It can be very dark in the UK this time of year so forgive the darker shots. However it does give a very good idea of how Nathan will look in different types of light.... He has been carefully and realistically weighted with a combination of elastomer pellets, glass granules and polyfibre filling to create the weight in all the right places to make him feel like a real baby in your arms. He will flop on your shoulder and snuggle up as if he is real. I have given him a very realistic tummy plate. This is tied on over his soft body for posing and removed for a cuddle, but I have found it is such a gorgeous fit and quite soft so that he may be able to keep it on under his clothes if desired. I have studied babies' colouring closely for years to try and replicate the most realistic colouring I can. I have given little Nathan the most realistic slightly blotchy colouring of a baby a couple of months old. I use Genesis heat set paints in many delicate layers to create the soft and translucent look of real baby skin. I really have paid great attention to detail and his limbs are as beautifully detailed as his face and tummy plate. His skin is beautifully and realistically textured. He has very delicate veins, capilliaries and small pores and I have also given him a few milk spots by the side of his nose, these are quite delicate but just like real spots show up in some lights more than others. This colouring will never fade or be rubbed off and Nathan will look as fresh and lovely as he is now for many years to come. His beautiful skin glows with life. I have tried hard the past years to make my babies look as 'alive' and realistic as I possibly can.... I work very hard to get the scalp and head detail as accurate as I can too. Nathan has veining and skin detail all over his realistic little head. I have then micro rooted the finest medium brown soft hair that suits his gorgeous colouring so perfectly. His hair can be brushed almost straight or fluffed up, he looks adorable either way. Apart from a slightly dampened head in the first photo below, His photos are mostly all of his hair dry and behaving naturally so you can see exactly how he will come to you. This hair is absolutely perfect for him and I was thrilled with it. His head has then been carefully sealed inside with waterproof glue so that his lovely baby fine head can be carefully washed like a real baby. His hair has been carefully rooted with a swirled crown and a natural rooting pattern. I have used a very fine needle for complete realism. He has fine hairs on his temples just like a real newborn. I have done this without the use of any painted lines. Nathan's beautifully sculpted limbs and hands and feet have been so carefully coloured with not a knuckle, fold or wrinkle missed. His nails have been delicately detailed with gentle half moons. I have given Nathan the finest hand blown German glass eyes available that look incredibly real and full of sparkle and life! He has real hair eyelashes to compliment his hair. His lips are soft and delicate. This beautiful baby has touches of moisture in just the right places to look just like a real baby and I have also given him a sweet magnetic pacifier. Any magnets can be removed upon request.
